The Light of My Presence

The Light of My Presence by Chaplain Michele:
My wish is to extend an invitation to you to look with me at a brief statement made from one of my favorite devotional writers, Sarah Young [ISBN 978-1-5914-5188-4]. She opens with a message as if Jesus was speaking to us: Be still in the Light of My Presence, while I communicate Love to you…. There is no limit to My Love; it fills all of space, time, and eternity…
Indeed, if we were to trust what Scripture teaches: that God is Love {1 Jn 4:7ff.}; that God is everywhere {Rm 1:19-20}; and that He is Eternal {Dt:33:27; Jn 17:3; Rm 6:23; 1 Tim: 17; Heb 9:14} there can be no boundary with which to contain the Love that He purports to shower upon us. But how are we to tap into this concept for understanding the true Love of God? How do we experience It? How does is occur to us?
Be still in the Light of My Presence…. Perhaps another way to say, Settle yourself, in a quiet place, if only for a few intentional moments to seek that which God may want to communicate with you. Stop for a few minutes when the busyness of life gives you a break, to be found in an easy chair, or in the night air, an early afternoon get-away, or a walk in the woods, and take a moment to speak, and be spoken to. Coming in communion with God will require you to deliberately take the time, even briefly, to come in Love’s Presence. And a to desire to know That Presence and feel It and experience It. Be willing to allow It to make Itself known to you.
God wrapped Himself in Light {1 Jn 1:3-7; amp} in the Person of Jesus, the Light of the world…” {Jn 8:12} That Light is warm and radiant, penetrating and detectable. The Light drives away darkness; the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to You, O God. {Psalm 139:12 niv} It is in that Place that the Lord reveals His great Love and the many mysteries and treasures that He has for us. In David’s poem, he writes, I have set the Lord always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because He will not abandon me… You, God, have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your Presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand {Pslm 16:8-11; niv}.
It is in the Light of God’s Presence that the paths of life are made known to us. Consider Daniel, when at the request of the King to interpret his dream, when no others could, he asks the king to give him time, that he may go before his God and seek the interpretation. He says, “Praise be to the Name of God forever and ever; wisdom and power are His. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things; He knows what lies in darkness, and the Light dwells within Him. I thank and praise You, O God of my fathers: You have make known to me what I asked of you, you have made known to me the dream of the king” {Dan 2:16, 20-23; niv}.
If it be your desire to experience the God’s amazing Love for you, then be found in the Light of the Presence of God. Find time to be still, and allow God to communicate His great Love to You. By doing so, He will reveal the mysteries and wisdom and purposes for your life. I leave you with a prayer from Eph 3:16ff; amp} “May God grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened in the inner man by the Holy Spirit. May Christ through your faith settle down, abide, make His permanent home in your hearts! That you be rooted deep in Love and be founded securely on Love, that you may have the power to grasp the experience; the breadth and length and height and depth of that Love. And know the Love of Christ, in the fullness of His Divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself!!”

I do like the manner in which you have presented this specific matter and it really does give me personally some fodder for consideration. Nonetheless, through what precisely I have observed, I only trust when the comments pack on that individuals keep on issue and in no way start on a tirade associated with the news du jour. All the same, thank you for this excellent piece and whilst I can not go along with this in totality, I respect the point of view.
